Simple Text Playlists (PLS)

Simple text playlists are, well, a simple list of URLs to files. This is perhaps the easiest kind of external playlist.

Here is an example simple text playlist:

http://www.yoursite.com/path/to/track1.mp3
http://www.yoursite.com/path/to/track2.mp3
http://www.yoursite.com/path/to/track3.mp3
http://www.yoursite.com/path/to/track4.mp3

Simply enter the URL to each track on a new line within a text file. You can save the text file using a "txt" extension, or a "pls" extension.

Example:

playlist.txt
or
playlist.pls

Define the files that appear within Wimpy by "embedding" the list of files directly into the HTML code that is used to display the player.

This option does not require any kind of special server-side functionality and is ideal for folks who's playlist will not change very often and only want to place a couple files into the player.

To use a simple text playlist

Use the Customizer Tool and click on the "Media" tab to open it. Choose "Simple Text " from the drop-down selector.

Enter the URL to the playlist file on your web site.
