Quick Start

1. Download the Wimpy MP3 Player package.

If you haven't done so already, download Wimpy Button.

2. Unzip the package

Un-zipping the download package is generally handled through your operating system (Windows XP, Mac OS X), most of the latest operating systems have "built in" un-zipping software, so all you should have to do is double click on the "zip" file that was downloaded and move the enclosed files to a new folder.

If your operating system does not have a built-in un-zip program, we recommend the following:
PC: WinZip
Mac: Stuffit

2. Install (upload)

Upload the Wimpy Button SWF file (wimpy_button.swf) to your website via FTP. To FTP files, we recommend using WS_FTP or Filezilla (open source)

Use your favorite FTP program create a new folder on your website named "wimpy".

Example

http://www.yoursite.com/wimpy

NOTE: You are free to use any name for this new folder, be sure to use only alpha-numeric characters, spaces and punctuation should not be used.

The new folder that you create will be referred to throughout the remainder of this documentation as the "Wimpy installation folder".

Upload the Wimpy Button SWF file and the example MP3 file to the newly created "wimpy" folder.

Example

http://www.yoursite.com/wimpy/wimpy_button.swf
http://www.yoursite.com/wimpy/example.mp3

NOTE: Click here If you're unfamiliar with FTP or creating new folders on your web site.

4. Configure the Button

Use the Customizer tool to generate the required HTML code needed to display the button on your page.

These tools will generate an HTML snippet that contains the necessary HTML code to display Wimpy Button in your web pages.

Copy and paste the resulting HTML code anywhere between the opening <body> and closing </body> tags of your page.

See the "Customize & Insert" instructions for detailed instructions on including the HTML code within your pages.
